About Me
Hi! I'm Handré and I'm 30 years old. Before making a career change, I have been working in hospitality for more than 15 years which has taught me that hard work is necessary to achieve great results. You will have to go far in order to find someone who works harder than I do :)
After I lost my leg, I started realising that I will have to change my profession at some point. I started doing broadening my scope and found UX Design. I really liked what I saw and started researching the field. I then completed a diploma through the UX Design Institute. I have learned a lot of new things and suddenly I saw UX in everything around me.
I finished my 1 year UX internship at DPDK digital agency ( Rotterdam). Here I have learnt many new skills regarding UX and digital products including industry research, branding, user research, ideation and concepts as well as wireframing and prototyping.
I am currently a UX Strategist and Designer at Cardiff App developers in Cardiff (Wales). Here I got extensive experience in UX design, strategy, working directly with clients, Pitching ideas and being my own project manager.
I would love to have the chance to show you what I can bring to the table while learning more about this field. I am a very hard worker and do my best every day. The fact that I am an amputee has never stopped me from doing more than was expected of me.
I have extensive experience in hospitality and management. In the hospitality industry, one has to take guests’ ideas and turn them into an event to be remembered - much like UX. I have experience in working effectively with colleagues and being a valued member of the team. I possess excellent communication skills, confident in liaising with team members and clients at all levels and from varying backgrounds.
I am passionate about being able to contribute to the success of an organisation, learning from others and collaborating with a team of knowledgeable professionals. I feel that my combination of personal attributes would make me an ideal candidate for a role in your organisation.
I thank you in advance for your consideration.
Career Starter
I started my career as an operational manager on a guest farm. It allowed me to gain a great deal of experience working with people from different walks of life and different nationalities.
What I do when I'm not working
If you can't find me working, I will be gardening or drinking coffee. I do not have a lot of free time as hospitality does not let you have much of a personal life, but when I do have free time, I like to spend it with family or friends.
Just a bit of myself
Just giving an idea of the person I am
